I don’t know about you, but as with mascara, I’m always on the hunt for the perfect foundation. I may just have found it.
If you have dry/combination skin, like me, or even if you need something to last all day (and all night), try Estee Lauder’s Double Wear. It really is something special!
I use the colour Desert Beige, so if you are fair skinned, with redness in your cheeks, this may be for you. I was previously colour-matched to Pebble, however this is too dark for me (the foundation does seem to oxidise once it has been applied).
You do not need much. I use a primer first, but it lasts well without. I either use a Beauty Blender or Real Techniques Expert Face brush to apply. Both are great and leave a seamless finish.
The product is creamy, almost nourishing and blends beautifully. You can cover freckles, if you use slightly more product, as it is buildable. I actually prefer to let them show through. If the coverage is too heavy, spray a little MAC fix + and this will give the skin a dewy finish.
I really cannot recommend this foundation enough. I work in a fairly warm office every day, and sometimes my work leads me to get quite stressed out, but the foundation sticks, it really doesn’t budge!
I have tried other foundations in between the 3 bottles I have bought, and nothing compares or lasts as long. There are a wide range of shades available, both warm and cool tones to suit all skin. It also contains SPF10.
The bottle is expensive looking, glass with a gold screw cap. The only gripe I have is that there is no pump, so sometimes it leaves the bottle a little messy and too much product flows out. However if you can live with this and are prepared to spend £31.00 you will be thrilled with the results. I do believe you are now able to purchase a pump from Estee Lauder for around £5.
This is now a Holy Grail product in my collection, I cannot live without this as part of my make up routine and love it.
As for comments about the formulation changing, I have only recently bought a new bottle of this and it seems exactly the same to me.
