Now I just LOVE Soap and Glory, as a brand I think that they are A-mazing! Don’t you forget that!
I must admit I was sceptical about trying this. I have read many reviews online some great and some disappointing, however I thought I cannot judge until I have tried for myself. I haven’t used many Soap & Glory makeup products, just the Sexy Mother Pucker’s (which I love), however I absolutely rate all their skin care, so thought I would give this a test.
First of all I must comment on the packaging. It’s cute lets face it. In a handy pot, with a mirror and puff, this ‘3-piece camouflage kit’ certainly looks the part. I hoped that this was not all style and no substance. Supposedly a dupe for Laura Mercier’s concealer kit, this has it all – an under-eye brightening concealer (with PUFFEASE – I guess to reduce puffiness, maybe haha!), SUPERWEAR face concealer and a sealing powder.
This product claims to improve red spots/dark under eye circles. Well what did I think? I’m sad to say I do not actually like this product. Would I buy again? – No. Here’s why.
First of all I applied the under-eye concealer (the lighter concealer on the left – shown above). It’s creamy and lovely to blend. Reminds me of the consistency of Bobbi Brown’s colour corrector. It even appeared to cover the dark circles. However even before I applied the setting powder, this sat in the fine lines and emphasised them terribly. It did not look too bad far away, but once I applied the powder on the top, this looked even worse (especially close up). It does cover the dark circles brilliantly, but fine lines are certainly more apparent (even without the setting powder). So I would not use again. I am going to try the powder over a different concealer to see how I get on.
