As many of you all know by now, I am a big fan of skin care and foundation. To me if you have flawless skin, you can wear minimal makeup elsewhere and always look put together.
I am always on the hunt for new skin/face products. Ending another foundation it was time to bite the bullet and try Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua. Being a blogger, I have seen this foundation all over YouTube and blogs and I, for one had not found a bad review on this. As I take good care of my skin, it is in fairly good order. Luckily it is generally blemish free, slightly on the rosy side and tends to be dry. At the moment I am loving less is more, and do not like to apply too much foundation to the skin.
As Chanel market this as ultra-light, I thought this would be perfect for my next foundation purchase.
After I have moisturised my skin, to apply this foundation, you need to shake well. It is very watery as the same suggests. You do not need much to do the whole face (around a pea-sized amount). Just squeeze a blob onto the back of your hand. As always I used my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply this foundation. It is a dream. You can tell it is expensive, it blends so, so beautifully.
There is no effort required at all. It is really, really lovely. When I first used this, I find if you apply the majority to the nose and blend outwards towards the cheeks and ear area, this works best. It gives the lightest coverage I have ever known from a foundation, however it is amazing, as it covers all redness, any slight discoloration or blemish it just glides over with ease.
It is heavily fragranced, In a nice way though. It does smells very Chanel-like, expensive. If you are not a fan of scented foundations, this may not be for you, as it is quite strong.
Vitalumiere evens skin tone and covers dark circles under the eyes adequately. You may need a separate concealer if you feel you need slightly more coverage. I have found the lasting power is around 7-8 hours. If you want something longer wearing I would go for Estee Lauder Double Wear.
This foundation is amazing. It does everything, it controls the oils, is not matte and leaves a lovely sheen to the skin. If you have good skin and need a lightweight foundation, this is perfect. My skin looked amazing wearing this and it is so, so effortless to blend.
If you have problematic or acne-prone skin, I would say this is not for you as the coverage is so light.
I absolutely love this foundation. It is really, really lovely. Everything else has been shoved to the back of the drawer. This is a permanent fixture for sure.
Have you tried this, what do you think? Is there a budget option which you prefer?
