2014 has been a busy year. Along the way I have discovered tonnes of new products I love and have also re-discovered some old favourites. So without further ado, let me introduce you to the products that have made the grade this year. Starting with the basis of any great makeup look, skincare.
Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
Love, love this stuff. I have ultra sensitive/easily irritated eyes and this gets the job done. The pot lasts ages. Hydrating and soothing, it doesn’t budge once you have applied. Brilliant stuff.
Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Mask
A fairly new addition to my skin care routine. A beautiful, luxurious oil, to use overnight, which smells heavenly. Non greasy, this soaks into the skin and by morning skin looks glowing and good as new. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Totally.
Origins Make A Difference Plus +
Another late entry. An ultra rich moisturiser that soothes and hydrates the most tired/dry skin. A little goes a long way. Slightly on the greasy side as the texture is very rich. Too heavy to use in the Summer, however perfect for the colder months.
Le Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
This product is always on my re-purchase list, would be lost without it. Keeps spots at bay, reduces any blemishes and redness. Leaves my skin soft, and great as a primer. Cannot get enough.
Tesco Cucumber Toner (not pictured)
It had to make the cut. It may still only be 99p, however it is still one of my absolute favourite toners. Refreshing and cooling, It is gentle and doesn’t strip the skin or dry it out. Still love this stuff. Cheap, but it does a fantastic job. I prefer this to Pixi Glow Tonic.
New discoveries this year include the holiday scented Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Cream, the hideously expensive Queen of Hungary Mist and the ever so slightly tingly Aesop’s Parsley Seed Mask. These 3 help to give clear, refreshed skin and seriously pampered, hydrated feet.
Bioderma, we all know about this. Cleans the skin period, removing every last scrap of makeup and dirt. Still one of my most loved micellar waters. The Sanctuary’s 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask has long been one of my favourite face masks. Through 2014, I was using this at least once a week. I still the love the way it heats up, Skin feels soft, clean and seriously pampered.
Una Brennan’s Super Facialist Cleansing Oil has been a complete star this year. Purse friendly, smells amazing, and is gentle on the skin. I only discovered this in the 2nd half of the year, however this is another one on the repurchase list.
Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir has featured in the past, and yes, I am still spritzing this. Not quite in the same league as the Hungary Mist, this is still a beautiful spritz to keep skin hydrated and refreshed, and is much, much cheaper.
