With hundreds of beauty products on the market, the choice is sometimes a little overwhelming.
Always on the look out for great new products, this selection are the few I am loving at the moment, all for that perfect base. With skincare just about sorted, I think that I have found the products that work for me, to leave me natural looking and polished. Apply your choice of eye and lip makeup for the perfect party look.
The secret weapon in this kit are my Real Techniques brushes. My brush collection spans from Nars, Clinique, Bare Minerals, Sephora, Elf and of course Real Techniques. I always, always go to my RT brushes. Used every day and cleaned regularly, they are as great as they day I bought them and continue to work effectively.
Starting off, I slap this Laura Mercier Primer all over. Easy to blend, fairly non-descript, this provides a perfect canvas to work on.
Rimmel’s Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation, has long reigned supreme in my collection and I reach for it regularly. When its sister came along and is practically the same but promising a light and barely-there coverage (ideal), I thought this would be a perfect to try, loving the original so much.
Beautiful to blend, this foundation works extremely well with Laura Mercier’s Primer. It somehow seems to stick itself to the primer and doesn’t budge, still looking fresh throughout the day. My Real Techniques Buffing Brush does a brilliant job of buffing this foundation into the skin, leaving lovely, even coverage. To set this goodness in place I reach for an old favourite, Soap and Glory’s One Heck Of a Blot. This powder does what it says on the tin, lasts ages and is non cakey.
For any red areas, especially around my nose I use the bloggers concealer of choice, Collections’ Lasting Perfection. Cheap and cheerful, I also find this surprisingly effective pushed into the skin using RT’s small Setting Brush.
At the moment I am loving the results these products give. They work beautifully together, giving a lovely finish to the skin. Don’t think I will be switching up my routine any time soon.
