Isn’t it great to see the spring clothes in the shops? Gone are the drab, winter colours replaced with bright cheerful corals, blues and greens. The promise of new life and warmer weather to come. It’s also a great time to try out some fresh makeup looks and different tones and colours.
Make Up Academy’s budget-buy range is a good place to start. Feeling summery and spring like I fancied picking up something different to try. Not too radical, but a little different to what I already have.
So different 11 of the 12 colours are neutral. Oh well, good intentions. The Spring Break Palette is lovely. The shadows seem fairly buttery and after a quick swatch the colour pay off is not too shabby either. I am looking forward to experimenting with the pretty green shade, I may post an Instagram picture soon, hopefully it won’t be too mermaid like!
I have to say I am a little disappointed with these nail polishes (Spearmint and Posy). Only £1 each, but after giving them a really quick go, the colours are wishy-washy and very watery. Unfortunately these have taken a back-seat and I can’t see me using these properly any time soon.
The Luxe Whipped Velvet Lipgloss was for me a little tacky and sticky. A pretty tone (Chichi), very apt for this time of year, but I would spend a little more for something better quality.
Personally I’d opt for Tanya Burr’s lip-gloss line. Such gorgeous, moisturising lip glosses with a great range of colours to suit everyone and good value for money.
Has anyone else picked up anything spring like lately? Anything from MUA?
