By the time this post goes live, I will have been sunning myself in Greece for the last few days. Being a fan of having a nose into others makeup bags, I thought I would share with you, what has made the grade and come along with me on my latest travels.
Fairly new to my makeup collection and one of my most favourite buys ever is Chanel’s Le Blanc De Chanel. The most perfect primer/illuminating base. It is beautiful, preps skin for makeup and leaves a beautiful, dewy glow to the skin. Perfect for summer nights abroad.
Daytime I have been going base free, however at night when it’s time to go out for food and a few drinks, I love nothing more than having a shower, sticking on that new outfit and sprucing up the old face! For perfect, natural coverage I have also turned to Chanel’s lovely Vita Lumiere Aqua. Aqua and De Blanc work harmoniously together to leave a lovely fresh base, with just the right amount of coverage.
For any problem areas a little touch of Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Concealer works wonders. However, I do find after a certain amount of ‘R and R’, lots of sleep and chill time the dark circles seem to disappear. Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze and Glow is the perfect multipurpose palette to enhance that sunny glow and highlight the high points of the face. A must have for any vacation makeup bag.
To keep shine away I’m using Bourjois’ Healthy Balance powder. I’ve nearly hit pan it’s so good. A finely milled perfect powder for the occasional touch-up. Benefit’s License To Blot is having a road test at the moment, I shall report back soon.
For the eyes I have taken By Terry’s Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock. A fuss-free top of the range eyeshadow stick, to give a lovely wash of colour if I fancy at night time.
My suitcase is packed with tonnes of SPF for the lips. However if I fancy something a bit different I have Clinique’s Chubby Stick in Heftiest Hibiscus and for a pretty nude option my go to; MAC’s Deelight.
Lash wise it had to be Roller Lash. This has been top of the ranks for a long time now. Perfect for that bambi-eyed look. No flaking and clumping. Just intense black lashes. For the bottom lashes I enjoy using Tarte’s Gifted mascara. If I require a less bold look, then this is the perfect mascara to coat the lashes and lengthen, without being OTT.
Maybelline’s Nude Palette has come along for the ride. Not sure if I will use this yet, but this Bobbi Brown dupe is perfect for creating all kinds of looks and is slimline enough to fit in my makeup bag.
For a lighter base, Seventeen’s CC Cream never lets me down. This tinted moisturiser hybrid is perfect for summer days and always looks nice on the skin. And it’s under £5.
Last off for the cheeks Nars Luster and So Susan’s Universal Blush. Both give a lovely sheen and pretty glow to the skin.
I hope you enjoyed taking a look inside my makeup bag. Quite minimal but it has everything I need and I don’t know about you but I love being makeup free on holiday.
Where are you all off to this year, city break or beach? I would love to know.
