Since trying a variety of different primers before applying foundation, I find generally they help to prolong the wear and ‘prime’ the skin perfectly before adding that base.
Soap and Glory’s One Heck Of A Blot powder has long been one of my very favourite all-time face powders so when they released their ‘Instant Perfecting Power Primer’ in the same family, this was a primer I needed to pick up and try.
After using this primer for the last couple of weeks, I have to say I am impressed. Using just a pea-sized amount, it blends beautifully into the skin, leaving skin smooth and soft. On first look, it appears this could be like Benefit’s silicone-y Porefessional, however this is quite creamy and leaves an ever so slightly slippy finish to the skin.
Aimed at oilier skin types, I wondered if this would suit my dry skin. Surprisingly, it seemed to offer a much needed boost of hydration after applying moisturiser. With Shine-Bloc and Pore-Shrink technology, this helped to stop excess oil around the t-zone and makeup certainly lasted longer using this after my base, than without a primer.
For £10, this is a primer everyone should give a go.
