First Impression: Nars Sheer Glow.

Nars Sheer Glow, Foundation, Makeup, base

I had Nars Sheer Glow months ago and it became a sore subject.  The colour was far too pale for me (Mont Blanc) so was snapped up in a blog sale I ran. The buyer didn’t receive this and demanded her money back. So I lost my foundation (still good to keep for review/comparrison posts) and my money. Safe to say I didn’t repurchase this for a while.
I finally took the plunge and decided to try again, so picked up Deauville.  Still a pale shade, however it has a yellow undertone, which is ideal to counter-act any redness, as opposed to leaving me ghostly-white, which Mont Blanc did.
Two pumps is far too much product for one application. A pump is sufficient, another half pump for slightly more coverage. I must say after using a brush and my hands (which is recommended), I actually find it easier to blend in with my fingertips. It gives slightly more coverage and the warmth from my fingertips helps to blend into the skin perfectly. The shade is perfect for my skin-tone, but in terms of the foundation it is not the best I have tried.
Any dry patches became really obvious, the formula seems to stick to these like glue. As the name suggests the coverage is fairly sheer, if you’re looking for full coverage then this isn’t it. Head to Estee Lauder and pick up Double Wear instead.
I’m not sure now I have the right shade, if I would re-purchase this again. However it is early days and I’m still giving this a road test. If I find a better way to use this then I will keep you updated.
What do you think of Sheer Glow?

I tried it and had it applied so I could be colour matched but sadly this one broke me out! http://maybemayhemmakeup.blogspot.com.au/

    • It’s interesting everyone I have spoken to on the back of this post doesn’t rate this foundation at all – and it gets sooooo much hype!! X

I really like Sheer Glow and actually find it really good for my dry skin. But, it’s the lasting power that doesn’t do it for me. I’ve tried primers, setting sprays, the lot, and it doesn’t last well on me. xx

  • I haven’t tried this before, I have heard such mixed reviews. Some people love it and others hate it. Not sure if I will try it if I’m honest!

  • Nearly everyone seems to love this but I didn’t liked it. Too foundation looking for my liking and so evident on dry patches… There are better foundations out there I think 😉 xx

    • I do like it however as it gets so much hype I wish I did love it! I agree there’s tonnes of foundations I love more and I think do a better job x

I like this product, but I have to mix it in really well with some moisturizer and foundation otherwise I get streaky/clumpy application after drying.

    • Oh i may have to give that a go and mix it with some moisturiser. x thanks

  • I had it recommended for my dry skin by so many people including the lady on the counter but it just makes my skin look cracked and scaly. If I exfoliate and moisturise before its not too bad but I still feel like I wasted my money. On the plus side the shade is a perfect match

    • I’m glad it’s not just me – it’s an ok foundation but I soooo WANT to love it! There are so many drugstore alternatives which personally I think are tonnes better x
