Seeing as we’re now well into January, do you feel slightly daunted by the goals/resolutions you have set yourself for 2016? If so, and you are now just pondering smaller changes you could make, here are a few ideas to get you going.

1. Improve your sleeping space.
Buy a new pillow, decrease the temperature of your bedroom. Turn off gadgets. Whatever will help you to sleep better.
2. Volunteer for something.
I aim to give blood more this year. Help a neighbour with shopping. Anything.
3. Toss those microwave meals and cook from scratch.
Use fresh ingredients. Master a few quick and easy recipes. Not only will they be much better for you, they will taste better and give you that warm feeling inside when you share a nice meal.
4. Pass a great book onto a friend.
Share something you have read and really enjoyed with someone else. It’ll give you something to talk about over coffee/wine as well.
5. Learn a place on the map.
It keeps your brain active and improves your worldly knowledge. Plus you never know when the capital of Ecuador will feature in your local pub quiz!
6. Try listening to classical music.
It has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety. Unwind!
7. A quick fix.
Fix something in 5 minutes. Sew a missing button onto that Whistle’s shirt. Change that light-bulb which blew months ago.
8. Stock up you fruit bowl.
Delicious, cheap and packed with all the nutrients you need.
9. Unsubscribe from those emails.
Remove yourself from mailing lists especially from makeup clothing brands. Remove the temptation to shop!
10. Find an old picture of your family.
Frame it and hang it on the wall.
So, if you have already given up on your resolutions, try one of these ideas instead. Small, simple actions can mean you feel organised, positive and also improve relationships with others.
