The Falsies Push Up Drama has been out for a little while now. Maybelline claim it will transform lashes into ‘bold lashes, thick with volume and a gravity-defying lift’. Want to see what I think? Then keep on reading…
I’m not convinced on the packaging, it’s much bulkier than it has to be and looks slightly on the cheap side. The actual wand is rubber and has these small cup shaped bristles which intend to hook and push up the lashes. Much in the same way as benefit’s fabulous Rollerlash.
I didn’t actually find that this mascara worked for me. I find the formula very wet, the brush is slightly on the scratchy side, so if you have easily irritated eyes then this may irritate them, as it did mine. Surprisingly the wand did not separate the lashes or provide any volume. Even after curling with my trust Shu Uemura curlers and then layering on a couple of layers, my lashes lacked curl and were certainly not pushed up. The formula clumped together and it was hard work to try to make anything of it. Normally my lashes hold a curl pretty darn well.
Unfortunately this is one mascara I would not recommend. After all the campaigns, ads and bold claims, almost marketed as another Rollerlash, this is one which just doesn’t hit the mark.
