It seems kind of crazy to be writing a very late April favourites, sitting in the garden sporting Havianas and a trusty pair of raybans. It’s Saturday afternoon as I write this (07/05). Apart from a couple of lawn mowers cutting away there’s no other noise other than an abundance of happy songbirds. I’m pretty sure this is one of the hottest days so far this year and it’s beautiful. Is summer really on the way?
I just couldn’t put off April’s collection of goodies any longer and top of the list this month has to go to First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Purifying Mask with Red Clay. Fairly thick in texture, this red toned mask dries to leave a film on your skin. Yes, its peel off. It tightens skin, pulling away all the dead skin cells from your face to leave skin feeling soft and looking renewed. It’s quickly becoming one of my favourite face masks ever and has been keeping my skin in check all month.
Hair care doesn’t really excite me. For me, shampoo and conditioner are essential every day items to take space in my shower. As long as they smell good, leave hair clean and soft with no scalp irritation and are reasonably priced, I’m happy. Neal & Wolf’s Ritual Daily Cleansing Shampoo does just that. I was sent this to try along with the matching conditioner. That ran out ages ago, however the shampoo is still going strong and leaves hair looking and feeling healthy, without the need to even use the conditioner. This is one seriously good shampoo and it seems it has had an effect on me, to think more about the products I use on my hair. As I now find myself stocking up on Pureology’s range for dry hair.
Malin + Goetz Rum Body Wash is hydrating, lathers up to a frothy texture and is non drying on the skin. It stinks of rum, pineapple and coconut. Wanting tropical island in a bottle with no 12 hour flight? This is it.
Style wise and to add colour to my spring wardrobe Oliver Bonas Sachi Stripe Print Scarf has been a welcome addition. I’m often found in a plain tee and skinny jeans, this brightens up any outfit without adding too much extra warmth.
For 40 minutes of pure escapism, I highly recommend subscribing to Netflix and immersing in the fantasy world of Storybrook. Once Upon A Time has been on non-stop for the last few weeks and to say I am addicted is an understatement. Need something new to watch with an element of magic? This series is certainly one to try. Rumplestiltskin alone is worth tuning in for. Watch it and you’ll see just what I mean.
Film wise, ‘Love Rosie‘ has been top of my list (also on Netflix). More romantic, than comedy, this sweet film had me blubbing on and off for the full 90+ minutes. Perfect for a night in on your own with a glass of wine.
Sorry it’s so late, keep an eye out for a jam packed May favourites coming soon….
What’s on your list for April/May?
