6 Beauty Treatments To Have Before Your Summer Holiday.
June 3, 2016
When our Summer holiday rolls around each year, as well as seeing it as a break-away, for me, it’s a time to reflect, have fun, try new things and time for a little detox. I’m talking about a good old pamper session. Of course, I am always dabbling with new face masks throughout the year and changing the skincare products I use, but two weeks in the sun equates to a full on ‘look after my body time’, not just abroad but at home too.
A couple of weeks before we make that flight there are a few treatments I like to have to help me feel my best as I bare all on the beach.
I always seems to be heading off to the local eyebrow bar for a tint, however for holiday I tend to go only a couple of days before we fly. The tint fades quickly in the sun, so I tend to get them a little darker than usual, so the colour lasts longer. I cannot believe the difference a good brow tint makes.
I used to get my eyebrows waxed into shape, however I find threading much more effective. It whips out the most stubborn of hairs to leave skin smooth and the perfect canvas to apply any eye makeup. Slightly more painful, it’s still quick, ultra effective and lasts much longer.
LVL Lash Lift & Tint
Usually I don’t bother getting lashes tinted, as applying a few coats of a good mascara usually does the trick. However by the pool, makeup free, this year I want stand-out lashes, so I’ve booked in for an LVL Lash Lift and Tint. If you are interested in having this procedure, you will need a patch test first. I’ll let you know how it goes and take a few before and after shots. So stay tuned for a post coming on this soon. I’m just dreaming of perfectly curled, dark lashes.
When I travel or go away I try to fit in a facial a few days before. Perfect to hydrate the skin and to leave an uber soft, smooth complexion. I highly recommend heading to a spa who use Elemis products.
Manicure & Pedicure
Depending on the state of my finger nails, will depend on the treatment I have before I jet off. If I can get away with a quick file and polish all the better. If my nails need something a little extra, I would opt for a shellac. Both nude or in a pretty coral/pink colour depending on my mood. As I have said in previous posts, I suffer with dry feet and lost my big toe nails, so I would have a french pedicure on my toes to freshen things up and to keep my feet looking clean and pretty as possible.
For any unwanted hair; bikini, underarm or leg, I still use a good quality razor or an at home waxing treatment. Be careful with home kits for the bikini area, especially if you have sensitive skin, as they can irritate the skin terribly. Check the packaging carefully.
So, there you have it, my holiday preparation. No doubt I will book in for a massage/facial/everything else, when we arrive at the hotel.
What do you do to prepare for your beach holidays? Have I missed anything?
