Luxury skincare is pricey, as is Elemis’ new Biotec cleanser. The results speak for themselves, so in this case I do think you get what you pay for. It seems as though there is alot of science behind this product which means nothing to me, however this cleanser reduces surface oils and impurities to help to rebalance the skin. You only need 2-3 pumps, so the 200ml will last ages. It smells spa-like with a mild scent of lavender. It wakes the skin up in the most gentle way to leave skin soft, clean and re-energised. My skin and I just cannot get enough of this stuff. I would not hesitate to spend money on this again.
Smashbox Photo-Finish Primer Water
Similar to MAC’s Fix +, I have been using the Photo-Finish Primer Water before makeup to add a much needed hydration boost. After applying any foundation it seems to give a lovely dewy finish to the skin. Not quite sure if makeup lasts any longer, however it gives skin a refreshing treat. A word of warning do not be too trigger happy, you only need 1-2 sprays or your skin will be saturated.
Imperial Leather Foamy Banana Shower Cream
Something a little cheaper, this shower cream is amazing. Everytime I use this I feel happy. It brings back strong childhood memories of slurping down that sweet banana medicine from the doctors. It is literally as though they have bottled the scent. It foams up beautifully and fills the bathroom with a delicious banana aroma. Love bananas, you must try this. Hate them, avoid!
MAC Syrup (Lustre)
This is fast becoming my daily lipstick of choice. The formula doesn’t last long on the lips, especially come mid-morning tea break. However the tone is beautiful. MAC describe Syrup as a cloudy pink, on me (I am very fair), it is my perfect nude. My lips but better blah-de-blah. It’s just a lovely wearable every day colour and I am fast using this up. It doesn’t dry out my lips, nor emphasise any fine lines. As well as applying the usual way I also like to pat this into my lips more as a stain and top with a neutral lip balm.
Monu Instant Radiance Brightening Boost*
I have completely fallen in love. Monu’s lightweight serum provides an instant glow to the skin, with or without applying makeup. It contains all sorts of good stuff to look after the skin to leave your complexion smooth and hydrated. It works wonders mixing a little with moisturiser before makeup application and smells of mango. Perfect for the summer. I’ve nearly used it all up and am going to have to order another one pronto. Excellent and well loved.
Ogario Restore And Shine Hair Masque*
As with my skin, my hair also suffers with dry ends. It takes a seriously good product to make much difference and this is one of those gems you come across now and then. Ogario’s masque is thick so you do not need much. On first go I used far too much and this weighed my hair down. Full to the brim with lavender and sage, the healing effects of these ingredients work wonders to leave hair shiny, soft and also improving the condition. I have been using this twice a week now and apply before I even switch the shower on. Leave for ten minutes and then rinse off. The lavender scent is strong but don’t be put off, as this is one lovely, hard-working hair product.
Jo Jo Moyes ‘Me Before You’
The film is out at the beginning of June. I’ve seen the trailer and it’s already pulling at the heart strings. I’m quite sure I will watch the film before I read this. I’m saving it for my travels to Tenerife in just over 2 weeks time. I know I will love this book. Premature maybe, however I will let you all know what I think as I’m sipping a cocktail in the sun and the pages are covered in sun cream.
