So, it appears I cannot travel light on the skincare front. With an already substantial collection, it was easy to choose a few old favourites to take with me. These few products are the best-of-the-best and all really work well used alongside each other. If you don’t know, my skin is on the dry side. Lets start with:
Garnier Micellar Water
As good as Bioderma. This gentle water removes everything. Hardworking, it leaves skin soft, smooth and uber clean. For a 10 day stay, I took 2 travel sized bottles with me, you know, just in case.
Elemis Biotech Cleanser
It wasn’t hard to decide which ‘shower face cleanser‘ to pack this time around. I have used this constantly day and night for the past month and my skin has improved dramatically. The zen-like scent is highly appealing and my skin thanks me daily for investing in this.
Vichy Purete Thermale Waterproof Makeup Remover
The best out there. Gentle, this removes heavy duty makeup, all with minimal effort. Just press a soaked cotton round to the eyelid, hold for a few seconds and your makeup will swipe away with no abrasive rubbing required. Cooling and refreshing on the skin, perfect after a hot day in the sun.
Pixi Glow Tonic
Alcohol-free and packed with Aloe Vera, this exfoliating tonic is pleasant to use. It amazes me how unclean a cotton pad becomes, when you already believe your skin to be squeaky clean. As the name suggests, using this really makes my skin glow. For an alternative and handy travel option. I decided to also pack:
First Aid Beauty’s Facial Radiance Pads.
These pads feel slightly harsher on the skin, but are ideal for on the go.
Lush Million Dollar Moisturiser
I wasn’t too worried about packing an ‘everyday’ cream as I already had Clinique’s Factor 50 Face Sunscreen with me, which I applied first thing in the morning and throughout the day. For evening, I was looking for a dewy base. It just had to be this product. Perfect to achieve that perfect holiday glow.
Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Energising Face Masque
This is heavy duty stuff, sorting out any blemishes to leave skin clear and soft. I took this for a midweek pick me up, in case I felt my skin needed it. I also packed a ‘peel off’ version from First Aid beauty. Their Skin Rescue Purifying Mask is packed with Red Clay. This seems to really detox the skin a treat, in the most gentle way.
Random Face Sprays
Obsessed with face sprays, spritz and mists, I couldn’t decide which to take, so I packed 4. I was sure the weather would be hot and I would be spritzing more than ever, so needed to be prepared. I was prepared and spoilt for choice!
