It takes alot to make me switch the foundation I am using. Top of my list is Estee Lauder’s Double Wear, mainly because it stays put beautifully all day. Now the weather is warming up, I fancy switching things up a little and opting for a much lighter base. Bourjois 1,2,3 has been a major player in my minimal routine for weeks now. With an easy blend formula and colour correcting pigments to leave skin looking fresh and even.
This morning I fancied a change and Dior’s Forever Foundation (shade 020) stood out a mile. It has to be the most beautifully packaged bottle in my base drawer. The trademark ‘CD’ embossed on the shiny lid, hefty packaging and frosted glass, it’s easy to see the appeal. I had used Forever once or twice before and for some reason wasn’t entirely convinced about the formula. I’m not quite sure what happened as fast forward to today and I have to say, the formula is just beautiful.
Dior do advise to shake first before application. Lightweight and creamy, the product blends into the skin extremely quickly and with minimal fuss. Slightly scented, as many high end foundations are, the smell is pleasant and not overly heavy. Skin still remains skin like. It’s just as though you are polishing your skin up a little. It evens out problems areas with ease, covers all imperfections and leaves a lovely natural look to the skin. With SPF35 (from memory I cannot remember another foundation with an SPF any higher) and shine control. This lovely base seems a perfect option for summer.
Dior market Forever as ‘perfect makeup’ with ‘everlasting wear’ and with a ‘pore-refining effect’. These are bold claims indeed, however after studying my nose area in great detail, the formula did appear to blur any larger pores to leave a somewhat perfected finish. I was fairly impressed too with the lasting-power, of course it won’t last forever as Dior claim, however the only fading after ten hours of application, was on the nose area. The rest of my face and cheeks looked fresh and even. Impressive stuff.
This is the most perfect base for the summer. Non-heavy it really does feel like skin, allowing skin to breathe, all the while leaving the most perfected glow. Forever is a joy to use and certainly one to add to your base list.
