Sydney, Australia: Where To Stay, Eat & Shop

Wanting to offer a little more information/guides to my travel portfolio, I am happy to welcome Emma to my blog, who has put together a mini Sydney Travel Guide for the first-timer. Thinking of going to Sydney, this is one post you cannot afford to miss. Keen to explore more of Australia (I have been to Queensland, The Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast) this is one post I really enjoyed reading. Hands over to Emma…

The beautiful and diverse city of Sydney will leave nobody indifferent. The amazement can easily become overwhelming if you don’t have a certain plan when you visit, especially if you’re not going to stay for very long. You pretty much can’t go wrong with the choice of hotels, food and shopping centres but there are always some experiences that are the best of the best.

ADGE Apartment Hotel

An amazing stay during your visit to Sydney is guaranteed if you opt for ADGE Hotel. It’s also close to the transportation and city shops, but also has some great boutiques itself. The hotel has 7 floors with 2 apartments on each floor and feels very homey and comfortable. Of course, rooms are spacious and equipped with all the modern necessities for the most pleasant stay. And best of all, the price is very reasonable for the service you’re getting.
Meriton Serviced Apartments Zetland
If you’re not sure where to stay while in Sydney, the first place that comes to mind is undoubtedly the Meriton Apartments. This hotel is very close to the international airport which is perfect if you want to hurry and get a good rest after your flight. It’s also in the vicinity of the city’s popular shops, restaurants and general transportation. Of course, rooms are equipped in an exemplary fashion and you can even cook for yourself if you don’t feel like eating out.

If you want to experience the magic of shopping, the Queen Victoria Building or QVB is a place you shouldn’t miss for the world. There are around 200 stores that sell fashionable unique clothes, shoes and jewellery, as well as homeware. Aside from many food stops to freshen up and have a rest, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the building in its grand 19th century architecture.

The Strand Arcade Paradise

Another architectural beauty from mid-19th century; The Strand Arcade Paradise. This will satisfy the needs of even the most demanding fashionistas with a number of designer boutiques, jewellery shops, places to eat and coffee shops. This can be a great place to visit gift shops or experience the perfect makeover in one of the beauty salons.

Peter’s of Kensington

The place that has it all, Peter’s of Kensington. This place will save you the trouble of searching for some of the best quality souvenirs, home and tableware, stationery, beauty and travel products. They even provide their customers with the great service of sending the gifts to Europe immediately, so you won’t have to think about transporting them yourself. The staff are extremely pleasant and they’ll help you with whatever you need.

Farmhouse King’s Cross Restaurant

While you definitely won’t go wrong with stopping to grab a bite in one of the many great food places while you shop in QVB or The Strand Arcade, you should definitely check out the Farmhouse King’s Cross Restaurant. The Farmhouse King’s Cross has the service, setting and extraordinary food, together with some very polite and attentive staff.
Est. restaurant
If you’re set on having something special for your supper, Est. is one of those restaurants that can deliver on all of your expectations. It is on the pricey side but you’ll truly feel the luxury of the beautiful setup, while the choice of meals and drinks is superb.
It’s definitely difficult to put only a few places in Sydney in the spotlight, because of the great number of possibilities. Still, if you want to enjoy your time in Sydney worry-free with all your desired destinations in mind even before the trip, the above-mentioned places will save you a lot of trouble, and provide you with an unforgettable experience and truly great time.
