Christmas for me isn’t about getting presents. I love nothing more than heading to Mum and Dad’s for the best meal of the year, lazing in front of the log burner with a Springer Spaniel or two on my knee and a glass of bubbly. Watching family unwrap present so lovingly chosen for them and listening to carols playing on the TV in the background.
Every year Tony asks me to write a list. He always has his own ideas but I put together a few items of which I would really love. I would be lucky to unwrap any of these items come the 25th. Here’s what’s made the cut this year.
With Spring in mind, Oliver Bonas’ Josie Cross Body Bag in mustard and grey is calling to me and is top of my list. I’m already picturing this with a combination of stripes and jeans. In a cheery tone and classic shape, this is one gift I would love to find under the Christmas tree.
Perfume wise I nearly always wear a concoction of Jo Malone. Peony and Blush Suede and English Pear and Freesia are my absolute favourites. This year I fancied a change and had recently tried Armani’s Si in store. Don’t ask me the notes it consists of as I am pretty poor when it comes to describing scents. All I know, is it it fresh, feminine and seriously grown up.
Rodial’s X-Treme Hangover Mask featured on my Autumn Wishlist. I did actually purchase this. It came and I returned it, plagued by the guilt of how much money one mask could cost. I’ve read rave reviews and still long to try it. That’s why it’s made it back onto my list. If someone else buys this for me, it will be guilt-free!
Guerlain’s Stop Spot is among a range of miniature heroes they recently released. I’ve been using Super Lips and Midnight Secret for weeks now and seriously love both. Searching for a quick spot treatment to keep in my handbag, this one quickly sprung to mind. I’m quite sure the formula would be fabulous and the packaging is super cute.
Joules Fab Fluffy Socks (French Navy) are among the best for bedtime and lounging around. I have a couple of well-loved pairs, which are a little threadbare. It’s time to replenish.
Diptyque produce the most beautiful candles. Baies is my all-time favourite and was burnt daily over the summer. It’s one of those candles I repurchase again and again. It’s certainly time for a replacement and I would beam from ear to ear if this was in my stocking.
Ab Fab The Movie. I watched this at the cinema and whilst I didn’t quite love it as much as the original TV Series, I certainly want another re-watch only if it’s to catch all the celebs in the front row. Perfect Sunday afternoon viewing.
Rodial face mask on, feet warm and toasty, Baies burning and a date with Joanna Lumley. Sounds perfect.
What makes your list this year? Have you been naughty or nice? And just what are you buying for loved ones?
