For a product to reach Holy Grail status, it has to be amazing! It has to tick all the boxes and be something you can truly rely on.
For the days your skin doesn’t quite feel it’s best or you feel run down. it has to work hard and make you feel and look the best you can. We all get those days but for me these 5 products are always guaranteed to make me look better than I feel.
Generally my skin is fairly clear, however I am still prone to imperfections and dry spots. When I need a little extra help in the base department, I call in the big guns, Estee Lauder’s Double Wear.
I’ve raved about this since I first started blogging (in fact it was my very first blog post). It’s creamy and blends beautifully to leave a flawless base. Even though the coverage is full, skin looks like skin without leaving a heavy mask. I’ve bought Double Wear over and over again and when I need a foundation I can completely trust Double Wear ticks every box.
For the days I fancy lighter coverage but are still after a flawless finish, I use Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua. Another base which melts beautifully into the skin. Skin looks natural just perfected. If you’re looking for a cheaper version with a demi-matte finish, then Bourjois’ Perfect 123 is fabulous. Packed with colour correcting pigments, this budget option leaves skin looking fresh and better than your natural complexion. Think of it as an enhancer for the skin in a bottle.
For the lips there are 2 products which feature permanently in my makeup bag. MAC’s Cremesheen Lip Glass in Deelight and Dior’s Addict Lip Glow. Deelight is the cliched version of your lips but better colour. Ultra glossy with high pigmentation to leave lips looking full and healthy. The hydrating formula glides over any dry areas to leave lips looking a better version of themselves.
Dior’s Lip Glow is essentially a lip balm but when applied to the lips feels like a balm/gloss hybrid. The formula is hydrating, non sticky and adjusts to the wearers natural lip tone. It gives the most beautiful rosy look to any lips. They look full and the subtle mint scent leaves the mouth area feeling refreshed. It’s pricey but so worth it.
For the days I just want to feel a little better about myself these products are the ones to help. No dramatic makeup, just a flawless base and rosy lips.
What products do you use on the days you feel a little meh? Are there any I need to try?
