The Perfect Payday Palette: From Tarte.

Just lately I’ve decided to have an intense makeup clearout. It’s ongoing and something I am rather enjoying. They say that it’s cathartic to detox your stash. And it really is, almost soul cleansing. The tidy person inside me loves organising and I feel order will be soon be restored.
For months my makeup drawers have been fit to burst. And no, I do not have the luxury of having tonnes of space to have the Ikea Alex storage system!
It was time for an overdue clear out and to dust off my old ebay account to make some extra pennies. This is when I stumbled across this brand new (to me) Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette.
The Perfect Payday Palette: Tarte's Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette.
I was hunting through my collection for a nude palette (bearing in mind I have already sold Urban Decay’s Naked 1,2 and 3 – yes, I know what is wrong with me?) and came across this beauty from Tarte. Rich tones, fairly natural but with a couple of darker shades, so if you want something a little extra there’s a few shades to make an evening look.

I must admit I have only swatched these colours and the payoff is intense. The formula buttery and the shade range is pretty special.
I’m not really an eyeshadow kind of girl. Apart from the fact that I’m pretty crap at applying it (no matter how hard I try), it seems to suit me more when I have just a little light colour washed over the lids or a darker tone smudged into the lashes or under the lower lash line.
I had tonnes of palettes.  Some just sitting there, never used. Some completely the wrong tone for my skin and some quite frankly with more glitter than a shiny disco ball.
On first impressions this is the one palette I am quite sure I will reach for again and again when I do want something on those lids. At the rate I am selling bits and bobs off, I am only going to be left with 3 or 4 eyeshadow palettes in my collection.

Free Spirit (top left) and Super Mom (bottom left) look ideal for a light wash over the eyelids. Dreamer (third row in, top) and Force of Nature (2nd row in, top) are perfect for the crease.

If you are looking for a neutral matte eyeshadow palette to add to your collection, Tarte’s Amazonian Clay offering is pretty special.  When payday does roll round, this is one palette I highly recommend investing in.
Do you already have this in your collection?  Which is your favourite nude eyeshadow palette? And unlike me, can you master the perfect eyeshadow look?
