A lavender shampoo and conditioner which are really rather smashing!
I last tried something from L’Oreal’s Botanicals range way back in April last year. To say this was disastrous was an understatement. You can read my musings all about the Coriander Strength line here. Using these products put me off the whole Botanicals collection.
Loved the products, but I had an allergic reaction to what the doctor thought was the coriander. Safe to say it put me off trying something else, however one year on I decided I was going to snap something else up to try but from a different range.
Step forward their Lavender Soothing Therapy Shampoo and Conditioning Balm. Catered towards those with fine, fragile hair (which mine certainly isn’t, it’s thick and there’s alot of it!), the shampoo is also suitable for sensitive scalps. Perfect, these were the 2 products I was destined to try and hopefully restore my faith in the Botanical family.
As with the Coriander range, I love the packaging. It’s fresh, informative and certainly stands out in the Boots aisles.
The Soothing Therapy Shampoo is packed with a concoction of organic lavender essential oil. The aroma is relaxing yet fresh and when lathered up and mixed with steam in the bathroom, the scent is heavenly, like a top London spa.
The creamy consistency of the shampoo means you literally need a dollop. The soya and coconut oils and sulphate-free formula leaves hair feeling soft, smooth and hydrated. The Conditioning Balm is fairly thick and also very creamy. The conditioner also contains the same organic lavender essential oils, soya and coconut oils as the shampoo.
No Sulphates, no parabens, no silicones, no colourants, vegan and 98% natural origin formula (the conditioner).
L’Oreal recommend leaving on wet hair for 2 minutes before rinsing. Of course, I did as they said and was left with soft, tangle-free smooth hair.
The first time around, using the Coriander Botanicals range, my skin started to itch almost immediately after use. I was slightly nervous stepping out of the shower this time around and dreaded a trip back to the doctors for another skin allergy.
I felt like I was almost waiting for my skin to start itching again, but I wrapped myself in a warm towel, poured a glass of squash (hardcore right?) and carried on my evening without an itch in sight! Yay! I was relieved.
Since knowing these products were not going to leave me with a rash and a need for a high dosage of antibiotics, I have been using daily and I absolutely love them. The formula leaves my thick hair feeling soft and ultra clean and the scent, well trust me, you just have to try it.
It takes alot for haircare to wow me. Shampoo and conditioner are essential to my every day routine and it often feels like when you slap that shampoo on, you are just going through the motions.
Using the Botanicals Lavender range means I spend just slightly longer in the shower, so I can inhale the gorgeous scent. Since taking these pictures a couple of weeks ago, I have nearly used all the conditioner and will most certainly be stocking up again very soon.
As a beauty blogger, don’t you just love it when you discover something new, which really works? I seem to try many dud products, however this is certainly not one of them and something which I would recommend trying to anyone.
Have you tried this range yet? What do you think? Are there any products you especially like from Botanicals?
