In need of a little hand?
Lush’s Salted Coconut Hand Scrub is an essential to any beauty junkie’s kit. Sometimes you pick up a product with high expectations and think, ‘well, I’ll give it a go, it may just sort out the issue I’m having’. Sometimes you are a little sceptical until you try said product and form an opinion.
There are occasions it takes time to fall in love and you end up wondering, ‘sweet Lord, how did I ever manage without you’?
Salted Coconut falls into the latter. It took a little time, but blimey was it worth it.
It’s time to give you the lowdown on this unusual and rather lovely scrub.
Non offensive and fairly fresh. It’s very ‘Lush-like’ and smells a little on the aromatherapy side of things. If you are expecting something very coconutty then personally I find this more floral. The scent lingers on the skin and is somewhat calming.
Surprisingly the texture is smooth. I honestly thought this product would be laced with salt granules. Now, unless I have a dud my scrub feels completely granule free and delicate to the touch. Unless the salt is so fine you cannot see or feel it. If you are expecting this to feel like a heavy duty sea-salt scrub it doesn’t.
Fine sea salt (it’s no dud – fine sea salt – it’s a clue haha), glycerin, fresh lemon infusion, organic silken tofu, Japanese wax, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Argan Oil, Cupuacu Butter, Neroli Oil, Mimosa Absolute.
Lush advise to apply a generous scoop to wet hands and scrub all over, paying special attention to any rough areas.
To remove dirt/give skin a really great polish use when hands are dry.
Bang for your buck?
Lush have been more than generous at just £7.95 for 130g. This is one of their lower priced products which I think is incredible value for money considering how little of the product you need to use at any one time.
Salted Coconut has become part of my daily beauty routine and the tub is going to last me well into 2019. So, great value for money indeed.
Does it work?
If you suffer from dry, rough hands and need something to really work, then I highly recommend giving this a go. I have been using this every other day (just before bed) for the past 3 weeks now and have noticed a real difference to the texture of my hands.
Rough and dry skin is replaced with nourished, smooth more hydrated skin. After using I highly recommend following with an intense hydrating hand cream for optimum results.
I’m quite sure after the harsh winter (what has seemed like the longest winter on record ever) we have had, your hands could also do with a little TLC, so why not stop by Lush next time you are passing and at least ask for a sample to try?
For the tanners…
I have also found as I am getting into tanning more this is an ideal product to prepare hands before tanning and to stop tan clinging to any dry patches. So if you’re looking for a great hand exfoliator, it is certainly worth giving this one a try before you apply your favourite tan.
Have you tried Lush’s Salted Coconut Hand Scrub yet? Are they any other hand scrubs you could recommend? Or any other Lush products I should add to my basket next time I visit? As always please do leave a comment below.
And if you haven’t caught up with my recent post swooning over my favourite tanning products, what are you waiting for?
