Let the magic happen as you sleep…
Dior’s Hydra Life Jelly Sleeping Mask has been living in my bedside table for a few months now. Now and then when I fancy a real treat at night and am feeling a little on the boujie side I will crack open Hydra Life.
Especially since Sisley’s Flower Express Gel has finally gone. This was one of the very first products I ever bought when I first started blogging, that tells you how long Flower Express Gel has been with me. I decided it was about time it went, I just couldn’t bare to part with it sooner due to the price tag.
Hydra Life has become a firm favourite and a worthy replacement since Sisley’s Gel bit the dust. If you are looking for something a little special for night time and don’t mind splurging then carry on reading. Apprehensive about the price tag? Well I may just change your mind. Sip on that tea and lets get to the crux of the matter.
Anjou Mallow (from the Dior gardens no less – literally no expense spared). Mallow is for hydration. I have checked on Dior’s web page and cannot find anymore information regarding any other ingredients.
Texture & Scent
Hydra Life is lightweight in texture with an almost watery jelly consistency. The scent is amazing fresh and slightly on the floral side.
Once applied to the skin, Hydra Life soaks in beautifully and quickly. Non greasy to the touch, once the product has absorbed into the skin, skin already fells softer, smoother and revitalised.
Dior claim that after ‘your first night’s sleep’ whether you have had a restless night counting sheep or had a huge number of z’s, that the jelly mask will offer a ‘8 hours of sleep’ complexion and skin which appears ‘full of life’.
What I’ve noticed
Lately I have been feeling tired, not for any particular reason other than I seem to have really busy days but yet still I’ve been getting my 8 hours of sleep (or more) a night.
My dry/dehydrated skin loves Hydra Life. As soon as I have applied, the almost calming scent helps me to drift off to sleep quickly (along with my ear plugs). Come 6.00 am the following morning, when I’m brushing my teeth in the mirror my skin looks fresh and fairly plump. My complexion (even after one night’s application) appears smoother, supple and has a certain glow to the skin. My skin actually appears radiant.
Once I have gone through my morning skincare routine and apply my base, I notice that any foundation or BB cream that I use goes on a treat. Blends easier than normal and leaves skin looking radiant, flawless and my make up even seems to last longer throughout the day.
Worth the price tag?
Hydra Life Jelly Sleeping Mask is £54 for 50ml. Of course it’s expensive. Dior, as you know is a luxury brand and therefore a luxe purchase and it starts with the expensive packaging. This jar is heavy and possibly one you wouldn’t take in your suitcase with you. I would highly recommend decanting this into one of Primark’s £1 plastic travel pots. Dior and Primark in the same paragraph, did I really do that? Oops!
The formula and texture of this product make it a pleasure to use.
The results are almost instant and when your skin really needs an quick moisture hit, this is one product to get the job done efficiently and with minimal effort.
Dior’s Sleeping Mask is incredible. Well worth the money and a real treat to use. I don’t use this every night, only because I’m trying to make it last as long as possible. If money was no object I’d bathe in the stuff. I’m quite sure the rest of my body would love a moisture hit from this.
My skin appears to be ultra happy. It looks radiant, glows and the texture is smoother. Any fine lines are less obvious.
I say cut out your daily Starbucks and you’d soon be able to afford a pot of this. Luxury skincare with fabulous results. I literally could not be happier with this product. If you only invest in one thing this month snap up Hydra Life Sleeping Mask, it’s incredible.
