The lowdown on what make this Bean tick.
I first published this post way back in the summer of last year, however I was never happy with the photos. I had bought a cheap red and white tablecloth print top (yes I know- the photos have been removed), which was never really me. Here I am – with a re-typed, highly modified post. Pictures of me in jeans and a tee. Much more suitable and much more me!
If you do want to discover more about me, keep on reading. If you really couldn’t care less then stop reading (hahaha). Let’s kick off with one of my very favourite things….
Cadbury’s fiend. Can easily while away a couple of hours in Starbucks. Tea drinker. Ideally PG Tips. White. One sugar. Having a bad day I’ll hit the confectionery aisle.
Loves carbs, especially pasta, Mac N Cheese. Was vegetarian for around 5 years when I was a teenager. One roast chicken dinner changed everything! Hate celery and cucumber.
Love Pret for a healthy ish snack, enjoy seeking out cafe’s and country pubs. Takeaway choice would be an Indian with the full works.
Last meal on earth my Mum’s lasagne. No-one can make it quite like her, full-fat coke and some chocolate concoction!
Love our furry friends. Rescued an underweight hedgehog. Took him to the animal hospital. Once better I went to collect him and released him in the paddock at the rear of our cottage.
Took 2 homeless cats in. Both just turned up on separate occasions. Keen horse rider, although not ridden for years. Now-a-days if I spend a hour in the saddle there are muscles which ache, which I never knew existed.
Growing up I wanted to be a vet. Not clever enough. Crap at maths. I currently have 2 cats; Tom and B. Sunny was put down in January, although he must have been around 110. He was ginger and white, scrawny but beautiful. A true antique. He is missed.
Lived in America for a year when I was 18. Graduated with an American High School Diploma. Played softball. Badly. Arrived home with a Southern twang. Soon dropped it. Wrote to my first love every week for 11 months. Rekindled our love. No. Longer. Together. Parted on bad terms a long time ago and was heartbroken.
Years later I live in Norfolk with my partner Tony. We have been together for 13 years. We have fun and he will hate being mentioned on my blog. Although he won’t even read it!
Obsessed with New York. That skyline. The atmosphere. The pretzels.
So many places I want to visit. Love exploring new towns, cities and countries. I have real #Wanderlust.
Have flown in a helicopter and hot air balloon. Don’t mind heights but hate flying. Feel claustrophobic on the tube!
Places I have been to (the ones I can remember)…
America (Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Detroit, New York – a few times), Mexico, Cyprus, Egypt (Cairo, Sharm-El-Sheikh, Luxor), France (Brittany and Paris), Malta, Tenerife, Tunisia, Kos, Amsterdam, Italy (Sorrento, Capri, Amalfi Coast, Sardinia and Rome), Denmark (Legoland), New Zealand (North Island), Australia (Queensland and the Gold Coast).
Stopovers (worth mentioning)…
Los Angeles, Singapore, Dubai
Avid shopper. Avid returner. Extremely indecisive. Loves luxe. Favourite stores: Primark for cheap accessories, Oliver Bonas and Anthropologie. Net-A-Porter and Selfridges to browse. Other Stories. ASOS (of course). Partial to leather card holders (YSL’s are dreamy). Tend to mix up high street and high end. Matalan do dreamy homeware for a fraction of the cost.
Movie wise; love thrillers, romcoms, war films, true stories and action. Love Homeland, Rupaul’s Drag Race (check the nod to the fabulous Rupaul on my homepage – ‘category is’ – if you watch Drag Race you will know just what I’m talking about), Pretty Little Liars, Designated Survivor, The Crown and My Next Guest with David Letterman (watch on Netflix – Barack Obama’s story was excellent and especially interesting). More recently I highly recommend The Split and A Very English Scandal on BBC1. First crush, Paul Walker.
Ditzy. Fairly intelligent. Like to think I’m posh! Loyal. Kind. Clumsy. Ultra sensitive. A worrier. Always early. Emotional. Self critical. Perfectionist. Complex, yet very straightforward. Anxious. Most important thing to me in the world is that my family is happy and healthy. This includes the cats.
Lives in the country. Prefers wellies to heels. Love gerberas and tulips. Never cold. Loves the spa; massages, facials, scrubs and hot towels. I used to bite my nails, stopped around 15 years ago. Have problematic feet. Burn easily. Bright light triggers migraines.
Drive a VW Golf. Passed my driving test first time. Think of myself as Lewis Hamilton and love watching the F1 on a Sunday.
I don’t smoke. Have no tattoos. I’m a neat freak and love organising and tidying. Have regular clear-outs and send stuff to the charity shop. House proud. Wardrobe is colour co-ordinated.
I’d love to learn more about you lovely lot, please leave any post links below where I can catch up on the nitty gritty.
