A self confessed organisation geek. I share a new favourite storage idea. Practical yet pretty.
Anytime I have the opportunity to meet Mum for a coffee and muse over storage boxes, planners and wardrobe organisation I floor it to our meeting point (usually Sainsbury’s home or Dunelm) and head straight to the Storage Department.
Now, I must admit I’m not really into personalised items, however when Personally Presented emailed me to see if I would like to review a very pretty rose gold glass jewellery box* with my very own etching on the lid, the interior designer inside me became quite excited. And I mean, for goodness sake, it means more storage. Another attractive solution to store all the pretty things in which you want to be able to see.
Something lovely, functional and especially for me. My inner nerd was thinking of what I could now organise to place into its new home once the box arrived. And indeed where my new box would be homed once it was dropped off.
Ordering the box was a breeze. On the website you are able to choose the caption of what you would like written on the box. I went for my initials (GCP if you must know). Anything more I knew I may get bored or tire of very quickly. I was thinking simple and understated. Font wise you can choose to have your caption or initials etched or to be coloured (rose gold) to match the trim. There is a 50 character limit and the font is inscribed in uppercase.
Upon ordering the box, it was only around 3 or 4 days later that the jewellery box was delivered. The service was excellent. I received regular updates both by email and Messenger to let me know when my lovely new addition would arrive. It was securely packed. So securely it meant more packaging to go to the tip to be recycled.
The price to get your hands on a personalised box is around £30 which for how well this is made is great value for money. Considering how quickly it arrived and the time it would have taken to process the order and etched the box I was impressed. The actual box inside is glass with a mirrored base and you can tell it has been put together well. No rough edges, this is not a Primark Home special (although I do sometimes find a bargain). The rose gold is verging on a rich, deep copper colour, not orange toned at all (which sometimes to me looks a little on the cheap side).
What fits inside?
So far I am still musing over what to keep inside. I have a fairly functional but much less attractive acrylic jewellery box from Muji which is already fairly full.
I’m currently considering storing my everyday favourite bits and bobs in here (my watch, necklace and rings), my YSL or Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks (you could store around 14 lipsticks easily), trinkets, ticket stubs, used cinema tickets, even my favourite polaroid style photos and magazine clippings.
Length: 16cm / Height: 7cm / Depth: 8.5cm
If you are in the market for a new jewellery/trinket box for yourself then this is super addition to any bedroom. The box is affordable, well put together and something which would rival the interiors department of Oliver Bonas or Anthropologie (2 of my all-time favourites). A perfect gift for that special cherie in your life.
Taking into account the speedy delivery and great customer service this is a great present idea for anyone who is hard to buy for. Every girl needs somewhere to keep her rings, Vegas chips, lipsticks and secret love notes (well maybe not so much of the notes). This trinket box (as I prefer to call it) ticks all the boxes. Functional, pleasing to the eye and which will stand the test of time.
