A letter to brands…
So many people out there I’ve noticed #prrequest both on Twitter and Instagram. I’ve done it myself. Well today, here I am to do things differently. You know? Take a different, fresh approach.
I could tweet for England requesting to work with brands. However the character limit of Twitter makes it hard to convey everything you wish.
I didn’t ever feel I would write a post targeted for brands, but why not? Most posts we publish are aimed at our readers/blogger friends/someone seeking a review, why not publish content aimed at our sponsors? The people who can really help us.
It may be cringe worthy and I must admit I’m nervous to hit publish, but it’s worth a shot. Today I’m doing it my way. You may love it or hate it. It’s a bit of a punt, I must say myself. Some may feel I’m in it for the freebies. How I will address this, is that I’m an extremely hard working blogger and come the end of the year I will have been blogging for 5 years! It’s only in the last few weeks I have decided to up my game and just need a little help.
I want to publish more beauty reviews than ever
Sadly I do not have unlimited funds to buy all the products I would like to review.
Sometimes it’s time to be brave, do something different, stick up for yourself and shout from the rooftops; exactly why you should be working with me.
I’m a small ‘Bean’ who appears to be lost somewhere in a very, very large bean can! You see, I do try to convey humour in my posts, even if it fails most of the time.
I’m quite sure some may think I sound a little batty, however this is me, from the heart.
Here is why you should work with me…
I pride myself on honesty and producing the best content I can. I really do. Diplomacy is my middle name. If something doesn’t feel right then I won’t pretend it is. I spell check everything. Twice. Thrice. And I will work my socks off for you.
I am not in it for the freebies
I have been posting regularly since September 2013. I am lucky enough to receive items and products now and then, however I want to work with more brands.
I publish different content to others
I try to be individual. I mean I haven’t come across another post like this! Have you?
I’m a country girl. With a massive heart. And even bigger brain (yeah right). I take photos on logs, walls and pictures of bags sitting amongst the undergrowth or on the beach.
Someone even suggested rebranding to ‘Blog On a Log’ – I mean is that name even available???
I am keen to better myself
And take my blog up a notch.
If I love a product/item of clothing/chocolate bar/face cream you produce I will sing (very badly) from the tops of the rafters and will tell everyone. I’m talking the Milkman. The Neighbour. Derek’s cousin. The DPD Delivery man. John. Fanny’s Aunt. Polly the Springer Spaniel. Sharon, two doors away. Sheila at the Corner Shop.
I’m not about bigging myself up
Truly! I lack a little confidence here, but today I’m using that massive heart and am being brave.
Yes. Ok, I’m on it. If I say I will publish by such and such a date I will do. And I will do it well.
For far too long I have taken a back seat, however now is the time to say ‘C’mon, I do produce well written content, I just need a break’.
Blogs are the way forward
Using Instagram Stories is an extension of your blog. So while I may not invest in snazzy lighting and set up a Youtube channel, I am going to up my IG game and chat about life. And of course more beauty products.
Broad topic base
BBB, even though primarily a beauty blog covers a wide range of topics and is keen to promote both lesser known, local brands and also well know lines. So everyone can be a winner!
I feature only items I would recommend to friends and family. So if you’re on my page you’re a bloody great person/cake/brand/face cream/bag/mascara/scarf/book/blogger/creator/flavoured water.
Wowee, I never knew I could write so much speil. You get the drift. I’m a dedicated, hard working blogger and would like to work with YOU.
If you feel I have gone on a bit, are going to de-follow me for saying ‘C’mon I need you’ or don’t agree with the principal of my blog post, then I am sorry for offending you. But then again pleased I have spoken out for myself. No one else is going to do it.
So Bean, what’s next?
If you are keen to work with me please do get in touch I would love to hear from you.
Oh, and if you do get a minute and I need to convince you further – there’s further reading material here.
And for the bloggers who think ‘oh get her, she doesn’t even have swipe up on Insta’, well no I don’t but what I lack in swiping, I make up for with my dedication and thinking outside the blogging box.
