IGK Haircare as a brand is cool.
Sleek packaging. Well thought out products with tongue-in-cheek names. Perfect for those cool girls out there (thinks to self: why an earth have I been using these products then?). I am far from cool, well maybe just a little bit!
IGK seem to offer a wide range of products to suit all lifestyles and all hair-types. Hair too dry, too frizzy, generally not behaving? IGK have you covered. Ever since I dabbled with their Hot Girls Conditioner last year, I am hooked. And here’s why…
IGK Hot Girls Hydrating Conditioner (£22 for 236ml)
A coconut scented, luxurious, rich and creamy conditioner. At £22 a pop I haven’t used this yet alongside the accompanying shampoo, just a regular £5 bottle from Boots (which seems to still work a treat).
I’m quite sure used with any hydrating shampoo IGK’s Hot Girls Conditioner would work well. If I am ever feeling particularly flush I may try the 2 together, but while I am trying to save the pennies towards trips and travel, I am scrimping on the shampoo but still enjoying the benefits of this rather excellent conditioner.
Packed full of moisturising ingredients (Shea Butter and Olive Oil), after using a few times, this has left my hair feeling soft and smoother. Vitamin A and E also help to seal in the moisture.
Used once or twice a week and leaving on my hair for around 5 minutes at a time (just giving me enough time to shave my legs), Hot Girls Conditioner has really helped to improve the general texture and condition of my hair.
One of the best conditioners I have ever tried to help nourish my dry locks. If you too have particularly parched hair, this is one I highly recommend trying. In actual fact, I urge you to stock up now, you will love me for it! I am now on my 3rd bottle.
IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel (£14 for 50ml)
I’m a big fan of bed-head hair. You know the one, when you hop out of bed with a smile on your face, your hair looks undone but messy and in a good way.
It’s as though you literally have had to do nothing. You feel smug, looking in the mirror, wiping away the very last of that black eyeliner from the night before and although your complexion looks a little lack-luster your hair still looks on point.
Just a quick spritz and pouff with some dry shampoo and you’re good to go. You can restore later with Hot Girls Conditioner.
Wanting a messy lived-in look? Sexy, but not pulled-through-a hedge? This is where Rich Kid makes an appearance.
Rich Kid is a coconut oil-infused gel. Another moisturising product for parched hair.
A pea-sized amount works great for my relatively thick bob/shoulder length hair (although there’s not quite as much of it now as when I was 18). For longer hair I would recommend using the same amount of product again.
This must be one of the easiest products I have ever used to achieve that bed-hair look. A quick massage into towel-dried hair is easy-peasy. Certain pieces of hair you can manipulate to give texture and a messy appearance. There’s no need for a blowdryer. No fancy gadgets, just allow to air-dry! Told you it was easy!
IGK’s Rich Kid is hard to over apply and even if you do apply too much in your quest for that ‘look’, it doesn’t leave hair looking or feeling greasy.
A great product for those wanting minimal effort but stepping out with a more polished un-done look.
IGK Jet Lag Invisible Dry Shampoo (£10 for 96ml)
My hair gets washed every day. Yes, I know we’re not meant to wash daily, however it seems happy enough and I feel cleaner and happier if my hair has had a good wash in the morning.
For the days when I’m keen to omit my morning wash, I am eager to get on board the dry shampoo route. I have never actually got on that well with dry shampoo, however for a quick refresh and with an upcoming trip due to Barcelona, I am keen to reach and try the handy stuff once more.
Granted I have not tried IGK’s version yet, however I am hopeful I am going to enjoy using this as much as any other dry shampoo I have used (which at the moment is not that much).
Jet Lag claims ‘to erase mild dirt and oil gently using finely milled volcanic ash’ reviving hair and scalp without leaving hair brittle. I will report back once this has had a test run in Barcelona!
IGK are an innovative brand. With their appealing product names you can see why beauty fans get sucked in. I, for one cannot wait to try Bad and Bougie Deep Repair Conditioner, 30,000 Volume Conditioner, Trust Issues Rebalancing Treatment and Thirsty Girl Leave-In Conditioner.
Have you tried IGK yet? Do you love any of the products I’ve mentioned or is there something I need to try? Do drop a comment below! IGK you rock!
